Need your best load for my Rem. 700, 5R, 20" .223, 1X9twist

I have lots of different appropriate powders, my "pet" load is 24.0gr Varget, 77grSMK. I have 69gr SMK, Berger 70gr VLD Match, 77gr Nosler match, 75gr Hornady BTHP Match, Nosler 55gr ballistic tips.

Anyone running a 20" 1-9 twist .223?? Please share your "pet" loads. I'm lazy, don't want to run any "ladder" tests, etc.

The main reason I have so many heavier .224's is I used to have a Rock River 1-8 twist, AR-15, now just the bolt gun

THANKS!!!

My best load so far has been with 53 gn. V-Max's. 24", 1-9 twist. Running CFE223 behind it at just over 3400 fps. After I finish doing some stock work, I'll try the same bullet behind Varget (and 8208, if I can get my hands on some). 52 gn. SMK's behind the same powder were also pretty good, but surprisingly, didn't group as well as the V-Max's.

H-4895 AND 68GR HORNADY BTHP MATCH WORKS WELL IN MY SAVAGE TACTICAL 1/9 26''W/450'S PRIMERS

I have one of those. I've been doing a Lot of tests with it but I don't have my book with me. Out of town for a week or so. I have some loads for the lighter bullets but not a good one for 69s. Will post what I have when I get home on Sunday.

Some Varget and a Sierra 69 or a Hornady 68. They shoot to the same place in a Rem 9 twist at 20". Have shot that rifle to 600 yrd.

Lapua brass, fed match primers 68 hornady .003 from lands. 69 smk .015 from lands. 24.4-24.6 varget. Cannot fit anymore varget in lapua case without compressing loads which will cause inconsistent ogive to land seating depth.

Loaded a few loads with same components with rl15 same weight charge may group better. Have not shot enough to confirm.

I ran 69 SMK's in my Savage 24 inch barreled Model FP-10 with 9 twist with 24.5 grains of XBR-8208. The 8208 is outstanding in .223's I used CCI BR-4's and Lapua brass. Ran them at .020 off the lands.
