Need weigh scale for rifles

I just go to my local supermarket and weigh my gun on the scale in the butcher shop in the back of the store. Measures to .01 and is certified by the state. Save your money for bullets and powder.....if you can find it!!!! ;)

Remember any scale you use doesn't make your gun weigh right. You must meet the scale weight of where you are shooting.. Any good scale should get you close. I would make the gun where you can add or remove some weight Larry

we use a fish scale to weigh rifles before matches , just put the hook through the trigger guard or attach to the bolt

Seriously?

I pack up and go home before I'd let anyone hang my $5 grand BR gun from a $3.95 fish scale from the trigger guard or bolt.

Bolts need to be out of the gun at all times except on the line too....

Agreed, I wouldn't be to keen to hang my rifle like this either, though how exactly in the US do they check safe trigger engagement without the bolt?

Bought a hand-held digital scale on Ebay for less than $20. Use if for many things. Make a simple cradle to hold a rifle or just hook it on the trigger guard and lift up. You can zero with the cradle empty. It reads out in many different ways. Pretty accurate.

Think it goes to 70 lbs because I have weighed 30# propane tanks at the correct apx. 55# weight.

My bench gun shows up at 16.95 lbs. Repeatable.

I bought a digital scale on eBay so I could weigh things I was offering for sale there. Cost $22 delivered and has a remote read out, battery or 110 volts and easy tare weighting for a rifle holder or other support fixture. It weighs in .1 ounce increments, as well as in metric up to 110 pounds and has been spot on against scales at the post office and UPS.
