Need trickler recommendation

I need a recommendationon a powder trickler that'll work well for H4350 and have a long enough tube to trickle onto my Gempro250 e-scale. I'm looking to be able to drop one kernel at a time. I'd prefer (I think) a manual trickler but I guess I'd consider an electronic one.

I read a lot of positive things about the Omega (yeah, I know, it's electric) but their webpage makes it look like they're out of business because all the items say "discontinued."

Recommendations?

I would recommend the Dandy 2-Speed Powder Trickler. It is not discontinued.

I have a Redding trickler (manual) which works fine, but for the last 2 years I have used a "scoop" from powdered Gatorade. It is a plastic affair, approximately 1.75" diameter by 1.875 deep. I tap this with my finger while tipping the scoop (a single handed operation) to cause as little or as much powder to roll out onto my pan. If I have less than a grain or 2 in the scoop, I can drop single kernals of LT-32, Varget, or any of the Vihta Vuori powders that I use. Cheap and much faster than the Redding trickler. This may not be for everyone, as it definitely lacks the "cool tool" factor.

Try a pair of dog leg tweezers , you will learn how many kernels you need to add , faster and keeps the mind sharp.

I tear a leaf shape out of a light paper bag & fold it along the long axis to the point. The rough torn edges stop the powder dropping off while a fine point allows me to dig one, several or many grains of powder out of a small bowl I keep beside the scale.

You're gonna find that your Gem Pro 250 is NOT well suited to trickling up to a particular charge weight. As you trickle, at first nothing happens as the scale seems to want to "lock on" to the existing weight. Eventually, the silly scale takes the hint and changes the indication to a heavier weight, which may or may not be correct. You'll find yourself emptying the pan, hitting the tare button, letting the scale settle down, and then reweighing the charge. You'll also be grinding your teeth.

I still use my Gem Pro 250, but I start with a charge weight as close to the target as I can get. These days I use a Charge Master but I have also used a powder dipper and a mechanical charge thrower.

Once the charge is in the Gem Pro 250 pan, I remove the pan, shake the charge to center it up, and place the pan back on the scale because the Gem Pro will show the wrong weight if the charge isn't on center....... sigh. Then I use a tweezers to remove or add up to three kernels which weigh close to .02 gr each if you're using Varget or a similar powder. Then I dump the charge into the case.

If the initial charge is off by more than .06gr, I make an adjustment and re-weigh it, once again fine tuning by a kernel or two as necessary.

If you can come up with a way to hit your initial charge within .06gr of the ideal weight most of the time, the Gem Pro 250 isn't bad. If you can't, it's a real PITA especially if you try to use it with a conventional trickler.

I use the RCBS hand trickler,
I used a piece of 5/16" Outside diameter, Alum tubing cut to 8" total over all length.
Copying the OEM dimensions on where to drill the hopper feed hole,
taped the inside diameter with the proper sized tap to feed the kernels down the tubing etc.

I put double "O" rings on each of the tubing to keep the tubing centered in the trickler.

Works very well,
and it is long enough to reach the pan scale, without touching anything around.
I can drop one kernel at a time with just about any powder.

I roughed up the inside of the base and then filled the base with molten lead,
to add more weight/stability etc.

Having had a Pact and RCBS digital scale,iv'e returned to my 505 scale and a RCBS trickler set at eye level.I"m satisfied with this setup.

+3 (or whatever it is) for the Dandy. Works great and it's easy to drop in one grain at a time.

The Hornady quick trickle is an awesome piece of kit. 2 speeds, just by reversing the knob, and just so happens I have one and would make you a super deal on it.

The Dandy is...well...quite dandy! I much prefer it over a rotary type trickler for manual trickling (nothing against Mr. Archimedes).

Hmmm, this thread has me interested in the dandy trickler now....now that I think about it I don't really like manually doing it...time to spend some more money!

You will not regret it...the Dandy makes it easy and quick to drop one kernel of powder at a time in a very controlled fashion, or trickle a few tenths of a grain up to exact weight. There is a small learning curve to learn how it likes to be adjusted for any particular powder. Also, for stick powders that are prone to clumping, addition of a pinch of graphite to the powder in the hopper can work very well (recommended practice from one of the powder manufacturers...I think I read it on Alliant's site perhaps).
