Need Suggested Loads For 6.5 Creedmore ?

Gunsmith built - 6.5 Creedmore on a trued 700 action. Heavy 26 inch Lilja barrel, 1-8 twist.

Appreciate suggested powders / bullets / primers. Starting loads appreciated.

Looking for a 300 - 600 yard shooter.

At the range today with Varget and H4350. Varget was the best with the 120 Lapua bullets but we could use some help.

Thanks Monte, I did not know about that site. I am going to read it tonight. The rifle in question belongs to a friend of mine. He's in his 70s and he does not have a computer.

Good luck... the short version is that the load data on the back of the box on Hornady Match ammo are usually good ones... Varget and H4350 are the suggested powders for 120-123 gn and 140gn bullets respectively. The caveat is that the powder lot that the factory uses and what you have on the bench are going to differ somewhat, so work up to it.

My 6.5Creed has a 8twist Rock tube, on a Surgeon Action, bedded in a Rock Solid Stock.
Hornady brass neck turned to .013 which is a 50-75% cut
140amax seated at 2.208 Ojive
43.2 H4350
CCi primer
2795 with single digit SD/ES

Same brass
140 Hybrid seated .070 off the lands
43.2 H4350
CCi primer
2800 again single digit spreads

My tube only has 240 rounds down it and I expect it speed up considerably, I did Erik Cortina load method and .2s at 100 off a bipod, I haven't taken it to 1000 yet.
