I have a win 70 super grade. With the safety engaged a pull of the trigger will release the firing pin a small amount then on disengaging the safety the firing pin falls rest of the way. I am reasonably certain I have a firing pin issue POSSIBLY EVEN THE WRONG FIRING PIN. The safety does not look to be worn any. Neither does the cam on the firing pin nor the top of the sear. The rifle could be unfired by appearences, it could also be put together from parts the fellow had laying around.
MAIN QUESTION If firing pin falls on safety removal does it about have to be in the pin cam to safety fit? (this is after i pull the trigger with safety on)
It looks to me that the safety should retract the firing pin enough to disengage from the sear completely? Is this correct? I will have to check tonight bit i believe the serial number was 163xxxx
Thank You
