Got a 1.5 million serial number 03 that was fully sporterizied in the 50s by a real craftsman, beautifully done. Has a Buehler one piece scope mount and 1in rings holding a German Weatherby 2to7two dial scope. After a careful hour I figured out how the rings and base attached to each other and got the scope off. In the fiftys all I could afford was weaver's, but they work kinda like controls. My question is after looking at the prices on ebay for Buehler rings is if there is a standard spacing for the mount holes in the action. This one has two holes in the front and one in the rear, approx 4.10 from rear to the first front screw and approx . 90 between the two front screws center to center. Can I buy a modern base and rings? Thanks John
