I need some help. I'm developing a new round and gathering information. Not sure what information is required. Case capacity 40 grs. of water, 6MM and 6.5. 6MM 105 gr bullets, 6.5 130 gr bullets. 1-8 twist for each. Any info is appreciated.

Is the case volume (case capacity)of 40 grs H2O from a fired case? If not, the measurement should be from a fired case.

What powder are you using?

What barrel length?

Which specific bullets (not just bullet weight)?

What specific cartridge? There's various 6mm cartridges and various 6.5 cartridges. . .???

Are you going to seat the bullets at a standard seating depth/COAL? If not, what COAL might you be using?

Thanks for the help. Starting from scratch. New cartridge. Just trying to back into some information.
Powder unknown at this point but lets use Varget
barrel length will vary with the application but lets go with 16"
bullets Berger 6MM 105 Hybrid and Berger 130 hybrid OTM tactical
COAL I'm designing the reamer now so unknown.

Is there a cartridge case that might be similar to what you're thinking. I don't know if QL uses case dimension detail.

I'm headed to the shop. I'll coble together more information.
Looking at the Bulletin page here, a 6 BRDX comes pretty close to the same capacity.

Thanks Al

I had forgotten I had done a full length 22 American (AKA-ass kicking American)back when we were using the 30 American case.
Pulled a case out and here's what I got. Maybe
Varget 34-35 grs for the 6MM and 6.5 maybe 35-36 grs.
16" and 20" barrel

Edit Case length 2"
COAL 2.8"

Looks like your in the ball park of 6 GT. Ackleyize for uping a couple grains.
Or take a 6-6.5 X 47 and push the shoulder back AKA 6-6.5 SLR
