Hi All,
have a 6.5 x 47 Lapua, built on a trued Rem 700 ADL, 22" True Flight number 3 contour 1 in 8 barrel. Has the original wooden stock, bedded. The stock is a little short for me, but only really noitce if shooting prone at range. Stock is ok, for hunting offhand shooting. The rifle is used for hunting long range rabbits up to red deer, and doubles as range rig for fun.
So here is where I'm looking for some help. Would like another stock, bought a used Hogue and some rem bottom metal. Hogue is ok, but too flexible. Budget is $250.00 and then I need to get it shipped to New Zealand. I'm pretty set on a Bell and Carlsen, but need your input on which one . I figure it will be used mostly for range and longrange stuff (400 - 500m, is long for me). I was thinking the "light weight tactical" (the one with the hook,in the bottom of the stock). Or the B & C Varmint type stock, similar to the one that used to come on the VSSF? It will more than likely be carried on foot when used for hunting. As I have had little to do with these types of stocks, would appeciate you sharing your experience please.
cheers
Brendon
