Need Some Help With Rear Bag Rider for Tikka

walker2713

My Boy Hap....
I want to be able to use my Randolph front rest with the Protektor rabbit ear bags for bench rest shooting at 300 and 600 yards. My Tikka T3X A1 in 6.5CM is not configured for that.

I'd like to find a way to attach a rear bag rider to the picatinny rail...I could probably find a spacer that would let me move it below the rubber butt plate.

Any suggestions?

I could also replace the buttstock with one like this Seekins....an $185 solution.

Any other suggestions or solutions?

Thanks,

George

A piece of 1" aluminum rod with a rail adapter screwed to the end to attach to rail at the back of your stock.

I working on the same problem. For the front rest I've used a bag rider by Jim Whidden. It doesn't fit the M-Lok but by removing the hand guard you can insert the Whidden locks upside down, and purchase two 10-40 flat head screws, mount the bag rider at the end of the front guard. For the rear bag rider, I think I'm going to remove the small rail. Buy a 6 inch pic rail and install, then purchase the McRees rear bag rider ($35.00) and mount on the pic rail. It will fit a 3/4" rear bag width between the ears. Just an idea.

Thanks....I'm using a JP front bag rider attachment....well made and fits perfectly.

For the rear I'm going to use a 3/4" picatinny riser and a bag rider made by McRees Precision
