need some help... stuck bullet in case...

Never had this issue before... i was reloading 338 lapua rounds on my new 21st century hydro press... everything was seating at 60 force wise.... then i had 3 rounds that wouldnt seat up to 100 force wise, and well they wont seat... neck tension is WAY WAY off on these three...

So i grabbed my rcbs hammer bullet puller deal, but come to find out the 338 lapua case is too big to fit in my bullet puller...

They are seated very long right now... no where near fully seated, but i still cant pull these bullets out by hand.... anyone know a remedy?

get a pair of the plier type bullet pullers,,,,Roger
PS...measure your neck after sizing and see how much you are sizing it,,,dont wait untill you have to pound the bullets in !!!!

neck tension

You have a lot of neck tensions? I can measure bullet hold, I can measure pullet hold when pushing and pulling in pounds.

When it comes to bullet hold I want all the hold I can bet. I am not sure how you got 100, I will assume your pressure gage read 100. I have crushed cases that were not supported with less than 100 pounds. First the shoulder starts to do at the case body/shoulder juncture.

I have crushed cases that took on the appearance of a bellows/according. I was checking the need for annealing.

RCBS and Forster make nice Collet Bullet Pulling dies. Mainly use my RCBS inertia puller, but I also have the Forster and it works really good for old rounds with bullets that seem to have melded with the brass or for when you have to pull bullets from a large number of rounds. Also nice because the powder stays in the case so you can easily pour it back into the container.

If you only plan on only pulling a few of them, just remove the die and run the loaded case up into the press, and then place a washer over the bullet (to protect the press top) grab the bullet with pliers and pull the handle.
Use the buggered up bullet for fouling......

Vise-Grip style locking pliers would be ideal.

Ha i rigged up a way with the bullet puller hammer and got em out easy enough... pliers and press were next but it worked.... interesting enough i noticed all three werent sized correctly in the necks... my mistake when i was adjusting the sizing die.... didnt catch it then...
