Hi all,
Need some advise about my 30" 7-270WSM Wildcat.
I bought this barrel from someone and is 200 shots old.
I use Norma 270WSM cases and necked them up to 7mm.
I have a .314 chamber so i neckturned them to .312 with a seated bullet.
All of that works just fine and normaly it should chamber just perfect.
When i tryed to chamber the case in the chamber the bolt would only close for 1/4 and i did not understand.
After a while of brainstorming i checked the case lenght and found that it should be in Saami spec of 2.100" and mine measured within this sizes.
Still it would not chamber and i dicided to trim the case a thou of a inch back and tryed to chamber again. evrytime i trimmed it a thou more back the bolt closes a bit more so i did this till the bolt closes all the way down.
At this point i measured 2.0855"
So this is what i call the 0 trim size.
Now my question to you guys.
How mutch further back should i trim the case from the point the bolt just close so it would not crash or split my necks after firing without losing accuracy?
Cheers.
