need load data 1-7, .223, 80gr bullets

I just have powder for my 7mmWSM, F-Class gun. I just got a 1-7, .223 bolt gun and want to know whats working. I can round up some Varget and RL-15, they seem to be the favorites for the heavier bullets.

I have some 322, IMR4198 for my .222 but for the 52 gr match bullets

In a bolt gun 25.0 Gr. Varget with an 80 gr. berger shoots very well for me and some of my friends. A good place to start.

25gr vv n-540, rem7-1/2, 80gr smk, lake city or winchester brass very accurate 2"@300yrds service rifle also 24.1 varget, old, heavier lapua)brass, cci br-4, 80smk in match rifle. other powders that work well in 223/80's are vv-n140 and rl-15,h4895. good luck, and shoot well______treeman

24.5gr of Reloader 15 works very well with 80gr bullets in my AR service rifle,20" bbl). I jump Nosler or Sierra 80s 0.012". I'm using Remington brass at 92-93grains and CCI BR primers.

You can compare H322 and Varget at Hodgdon's here http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp

I will mention that the 25gr Varget load on this thread is Max for Hodgdon's for the 80 Sierra. It would be a good idea to start lower and check velocity/pressure signs as you work up for your rifle.
I'm not saying it isn't a good load, but rather that it is a direction to work towards instead of a spot to jump to.

Buzzsaw: A lot of info is available on this web site, home page, down left column to 223 data. Powder specific to 1-7 with 80 gr. is detailed.
