Was wondering exactly what we have to do now to post pics. I'm getting that the file is too large but I dont see any other method of posting to the site. Thanks in advance.

I think to bring them up on a phone and take a screen shot, then cut the parts off you don't want, makes them smaller ....
Ivanview is a cool program to play around with if you like that kind of stuff.

Here is the message I sent to Bill:

There have already been three threads on this subject.

Do not use "attach" button for large files.

On desktop, first size photos to 1000 pixels, then drag into frame. Irfanview is a free app that will resize.

On phone and iPad, click the photo icon to right of chain button. Select photo from your photo archive, then choose “large“ or “medium” (NOT ACTUAL!)

Do not choose “actual” if your default images are very large.

We used to have an autoresizing feature, but the new version requires user to select size.

-------- Unfortunately we have not yet found an add-on the autoresizes photos above 2 megabytes.

FYI, a 1000x1000 pixel photo will be about 300 kilobytes. So guys, you really should learn to resize your photos. This 600x477 pixel image is just 72 kilobyte (3.6% of the maximum size we can take). So you see, you really don't need huge photos.

I finally saw when I selected my photo under the bottom to size that is not a problem now the last photo even though it was vertical when I chose it rotated when I uploaded it and would not let me rotate it vertically I have not tried again lately

I take pic on phone, then take a screenshot of it. Then use that to post. I "think" you can also email pics to yourself. In both of these instances, your pic will be auto "sized".

Works for me,try it.

Forum Boss -- that can work. But, for cell phones, we recommend clicking on the little photo icon to the right of the two links symbol. It will say "Drop Image (or click here)". Click on the box, then select your photo archive on your phone. Choose photo, then select "Large" or "Medium" NOT "ACTUAL". Please, this is about the 10th time I have explained this.

What is the best way to post a video or Gif?
Thanks

If you want to post a YouTube video, simply past the "share" URL in the thread.

If you want to post a GIF, from desktop -- First check to see if it is under 2 MEGAbytes, then just drag it from your image folder into the frame.

Thats' it gents. Not complicated.

Just remember, images out of modern smartphone can be up to 9 megabytes, so just size 'em first.
Both iPhones and Androids have native Apps that will resize images (same with desktop iOS and Windowsw). but if you follow the procedure I've outlined (Choose "Large" or "Medium), there should be no problem.
