Correct. I use 320 grit as a light finish polish, leaving a distinct crosshatch pattern. Yes, too smooth is a bad thing, not a good one.I realize this is an 11 month old thread, but the thing that jumped out at me was this "Chamber bore finish is mirror smooth". I always thought the chamber wall was not supposed to be that slick?

Could be headspace too. New Grendel brass is pretty short. That gives it a running start at the bolt face, especially with a slick chamber, though.Chamber is too slick
