NEED HELP Sell or Rebarrel

Hi im looking to you guys for some advice. I purchased a fierce carbon rival in 7prc. This gun will not shoot better than a 1.5in group at 100yds. I've loaded multiple powders, powder weights, bullets, seeting depths I've done it all... I've even sent back my rifle to fierce they said they polished the chamber and throat as well as lenghtend the throat. They sent it back to me and it still will not shoot the work they did didn't change a thing. Theve even told me exactly what to load and told me it would shoot and again it did not.

So my question for you guys is....
Sell it?
Or put a new barrel on it out of my pocket?

If I Sell it I'd have to be honest I couldn't tell some one it shot when it doesn't So I'd guess I'd be selling it for cheap basically for parts.
Or do I spend the money and put a good quality barrel on it.

Can any one tell me if the fierce actions are any good? Are they good enough to spend the money on a new barrel and will it even fix my problem.

I appreciate any advice you guys can give me. 400 rds of ammo isn't cheap and I'm just turning my wheels at this point. Thanks again for any advice you guys can give.

Are you 100% positive it is the barrel that’s the issue? And not bad bedding, defective scope, loose scope mounts, etc?

Just curious as each targets has 2 shots together and 1 out of group.

Yes I have swapped scopes off of rifles that shoot amazing and put my scope off this gun onto other guns so I have rolled out scope, rings, Torque ect... I have not checked the bedding that is my next move.

As far as the 2 shots together I have dozens apon dozens of paper targets that aren't like that and those 2 shots together 90%+ of the time are not my 1st and 2nd shot.

Personally, I would contact Fierce Firearms to see what they have to say. Even if you bought it used, they might have interest in ensuring you're satisfied with their rifle.

If nothing came from that, I'd rebarrel. My theory is it's highly unlikely that an action would cause 1 1/2 MOA groups with a good barrel.

Ok thanks. Like I Said though I allready sent it back to them. I'm going to call them 1 more time tomorrow and in hopes that they will give me a new barrel but we will see.

My initial question is what kind of shooting are you doing? What level of accuracy or size groups are good enough for your purposes? Is it more hunting oriented or bench rest / F class ??

For bench rest and F class and Precision, I'm a chassis guy, which has always allowed me to get a good seating or bedding of the action to the chassis so I get a good free float of the barrel and also know that the action of the rifle isn't moving around. If that's what you're looking for I think I'd sell and start over

If you want more of a hunting stock then keep doing what you're doing to figure out if it's a quality action. If ppl in the know tell you it's a good action then I would go that route but be willing to spend what you need to get a good Barrel. I'm a Bart line fanboy. I know I started once with a Remington 700 action and a Douglas barrel and had the type of accuracy results you're getting. I started over with a kelbly action n a Bartline Barrel and got the accuracy I wanted

Hunting oriented rifle actions just aren't going to get you serious accuracy at least in my experience.

All of the above is my experience and I'm sure other people will give you different perspectives and I won't doubt what they say

Please don't take this the wrong way or take any offense from it but have you been able to load accurate rounds with the Precision you want in other rifles ???

Yes as far as that goes I was taught how to load and helped the whole time by some one that shoots F class and wins often here localy so I'd say my reloading is good.

This will be strictly for hunting and as far as what I expect is at least decent accuracy and repeatability. This gun has zero repeatability from what I've seen in almost 400 rounds

I sure hope Fierce takes care of you better than they have so far. Did they provide targets with the load they gave?
Either way, 400 rounds of 7PRC is a LOT of $$$ in components. I sure wouldn't be Mr NiceGuy on the next phone call.

In that case I would go down the road of trying to figure out if it's a quality action from somebody who has one and it shoots well.

My second step would be to try to persuade the rifle manufacturer to give you a new Barrel.

If they refuse to you kind of are stuck with whether or not you want to continue going down the road of using a rifle the company doesn't support well.

If you decide you do then I guess rebarrelling at your own cost is a final option.

I hope any of this is helpful.

Yes you said it exactly. That's where my thoughts are at. I'm hoping some one in here can tell me yes the action is decent enough to go the route of rebareling or no its not. Thanks for the help
