need help on new project.

having problems with new build, actually a rebarreled build i have never thought was quite rite. remington short action mcmillan stock badger lug kreiger hv 1x8 bedded 2" in front of lug, then floated. jewell trigger, 6x47 lapua was a 22-250 1x8 shot it out. the problem has always been very erratic no constant in performance shoots in the 2s then starts vertical stringing groups open up very erratic. changed scope, rings basses 2leupolds one sightron 8x32, tried slow loads fast loads just dont seem quite rite. i have 900 yd range and shoot daily this gun gives me fits, the only thing ican think from reading this forum it has to be in the action. my smith is a good machinist but old school lapping the lugs to him is bluprinting i have afeeling there is somthing else. where do need to look? i am not a gunsmith of any sorts just luv to shoot accurate guns. never had this problem with any other builds, or factory guns.

thanks alex

To start with I would dig out the 2 inches of bedding in front of the lug and see how it shoots then............
Who did the rebore ???????
Who did the bedding ??????
If your smiths idea of blueprinting is doing the lug lapping, hunt up a new smith thats up to date on his or her ideas....

the bedding under the chamber may not be the problem, consider the seating depth, backout, then in, pressure goes way up when in vs out, and pressure can give you varied results.

consider reducing gr when youseat out to touch etc.

this gun was chambered with short throat,& i am trying to shoot 105s 107s , maybe this is the presure variance im seeing, thus erratic groups. 105 hornady 2.530 10 thou off lands 107 2.575 10 thou off of lands 36 g h 4350. if i up loads any more like i have seen listed pressure gets bad.

thanks alex
