It came with a 12 twist barrel that has been throwing 70 grain pills. I have a 6 barrel, almost new, 8 twist 3 land that I want to throw the best bullet I can for long as possible shooting. Would to shoot 115 gr. Will my barrel and cartridge give me sufficient speed to throw 115s long when the book calls for 7 twist. Will I have to settle for 105's and what speeds can I attain with 105's and/or 115.

1. What kind of '6 barrel'?
2. There are 107s, 108s, and 110s (and probably more I don't know about) between your mentioned 105- and 115g. bullets.

Barrel is a 3 groove 8 twist button pulled Lilja that has been throwing 105s at 3300 with another wildcat cartridge that is HARDER to form and load for. Question is more looking for real world performance of 105 and larger pills. Interested in accuracy (repeatability) than the max speed.
Had a 6x284 for years. Through with that barrel burning dragon. Now I have a 6mm Creedmoor. I can push 105s up to 3100 and get well under 1/2 MOA . That extra 200fps isn't worth the headache .
