6xc loads

Hello all hopefully soon I will have my 6xc together and will begin load development it is a 28 inch 7.5 twist barrel and want to shoot 105 and 115 pills I have imr 7828ssc, 4320, 4350, variety can anybody give me safe start and max loads for these combinations, thanks for the help

Start with 36 grains of H4350 and work up. I run 38-39 grains in my 6xc with 105 class Bullets. It's a bit below max, but brass lasts forever and accuracy is really good at that speed.

I use 40.0g IMR4350 in my T2K with a 30" Krieger 1:7.5 twist to give me 3000fps @ 70deg. F here in Ohio using Hbn coated DTAC 115s and Norma brass. SD and ES in single digits.

As you can see, there's a common factor in the above posts, 4350. Not that the others won't work but this round just loves H4350 and you'll find that it won't take you very long at all to find a good load going this proven route. My particular load on a 29" Krieger 4 grove, 8 Twist is 39.8 of H4350. Puts me right about 3075 with 107 SMK's, give or take a few depending on ambient temps. I started at 37.5 (since there's so much data on this round and very few ever shoot lower than 38 gr with 105 class bullets) and went to 41. My two accuracy nodes ended up at 38.8 (like Mudcat's) and 39.8. Both shoot very well out to 1000, but obviously took the higher node for the velocity benefits. 1100 rounds down the tube, no signs of anything, brass have 6-7 firings and are holding up well. My guess is you'll find a sweet spot on the 105's somewhere around 38.5-39.5 with that 7.5tw using H4350.

Took me about 20 rounds to find an accurate load. It won quite a few matches in 2015. I love this little cartridge so much I'm building another 17# gun as we speak chambered in 6XC.

My experience with the 6XC was a little different so I'll explain. When I started you couldn't get XC brass so I fireformed Lapua 22/250 brass. H-4350 was as scarce as hens teeth but I found some AA-4350. I have a 1/8 barrel 30" and wanted to shoot the 105 - 107 weight bullets. I live in a hot humid climate, Florida. As the temp and humidity increased so did the group size. Why really doesn't matter it just did. After talking with an "Old Experienced" shooter he suggested I try Varget. Wow tiny groups, great MV right at 3050, low SD's. So if it's hot and humid give it a try. Start at 33.5 and work up.

Shooting Berger 105 H or VLD with BR-2 and Norma brass, 7828ssc/ 41.7 gr. start a grain lower and work up. 20 off with the hybrids, VLD in 10
