Need help in selecting a long range rangefinder

My old Bushnell 800 rangefinder hit the bucket. :D I am in dire need of help in selecting a long range rangefinder that calibrates on the dot. I hear that the Sig Sauer Kilo 2000 and Leica are great products, but leaning on the Sig Sauer Kilo 2000. Hopefully some of you folks have experienced with these products.

Tack, can you wait to see what's released at Shot Show? My source tells me that Sig is introducing an updated rangefinder.

How far do you need to range regularly? What is you price range? Is range or optical quality more important?

I personally run and prefer lfr/bino combos. I have used the Kilo 2400 and it is a cool little lrf. Problem for me is its is too small and the image/glass is not good for locating targets. I will say that the laser is quite fast and works well.

Many variables on which rangefinder will suit an individual. Just purchased a Sig Kilo 2000. Just wanted one that gave me more range without all the bells and whistles of the applied ballistics app. Saves alot of cost as well. The newest Sig 2400 will chime in around 1500.00. I paid 349.00 at Cabelas. It's all in what suits your needs. Gunwerks G7 is another option if you want bells and whistles.

Is your post a typo ? You have used the kilo 2400 rangefinder ? To my knowledge there are no 2400 models available on the public market that I have seen as of yet. If it's not a typo, where can they be purchased. Looking for one currently for a friend.

Sorry it was the Kilo 2000.

From what I have learned about the 2400 the laser is the same (or very similar) but includes AB software. I could be incorrect on this. I have absolutely no interest in AB software and ballistic software in general on my LRF's or Kestrels. I just need accurate ranges quickly, with acceptable optical clarity.

I would like to range as far as a 1000 yards for deer, does not mean that I will shoot deer at that range, but shooting yotes will be a kick with the perfect rangefinder. I see that the Bushnell ARC binos can range deer up to 500 yards only? Is that correct? If so, 500 yards seems not as far as I want. Is there a better binos?

You would not be disappointed in the Kilo 2000. It is small but very clear, accurate and fast response time. Size means absolutely nothing in rangefinders as far as performance goes. 7x magnification. Holding it steady may be the only issue but I had no troubles ranging deer out to 1200 yards while resting it on an object. I had no need to range deer at 1200 but wanted a range finder that could. My 1200 Nikon could go 1000 easily but not Everytime. It was hit and miss. This Kilo 2000 ranges objects out to well over a mile. That's what I wanted. Very happy with the purchase as it was priced well. A friend has the Leica Geovid bino rangefinder and it's very nice because it doubles for use. Doesn't range any better or even as far as my Kilo. The price is 7 times the price of mine.

Thanks Winner. Just told my wife that I am getting a new Kilo 2000 to replace the broken one and got a raised eyebrow from her. LMFAO. Going to order one. Any good dealers out there for a good price for a Kilo ?

Yeah I'm waiting on the Kilo 2400 too. Don't care much for the Ballistics app because I prefer to actually shoot my rifles at the ranges I intend to shoot animals. Haven't met a Ballistics app yet that's perfectly accurate past 500 or 600 yards. I've tried them all.

The powerful 2400 yard laser and multi mode targeting in a compact easy to carry package is all I really care about. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be paying a bunch more money due to the Applied Ballistics app that comes with it.

Cabela's has them on sale for $349 and free shipping last time I looked. normally $500 so that's probably the best deal around right now

Cabelas currently is selling the Kilo 2000 for 349.00. I have a G7 and Sig Kilo 2000. I use the Sig all the time when practicing and varmint hunting, the smaller size is handy. It's accurate and quick and Sig has a great warranty. Cabelas is tough to beat for warranty issues too.

My Bushnell Fusion 1600 binos can range over 1300k yards. I friend has the newer 1 mile fusions and they reach a mile +/- depending on light. Both sets have had the crap beat out of them and still work great. I think the combo LRF/Bino is a better mouse trap. Only one piece of gear for 2 jobs.

For $350 though, the Kilo sure is a good deal.

Black Friday Cabelas had them at 349.00 online only. SWFA has good prices too but we're on backorder. If no hurry, I'd use them.

Just think if you bought the 2400. May have got more than a raised eye brow. This close to Christmas is a tough sell.

The new Sig 2400 will do everything a little further out. It has a narrower focus necessary to shoot between narrow openings, They will have a non ABS version at a little less money but it will still be $1200 or more likely. I love my Sig 2000 but will likely sell it and move up.
