To see if your rifle is tracking you will need to test your horizontal group size
Using JBM with Berger 185 juggernauts @ 2730 gives you 4moa in a 10mph wind at 600 yards.
If your position and ammo are good (within conditions) it will show on paper...within the wind drift of your session.
1) Measure the wind with a kestrel or other anemometer. Calculate the amt of wind drift the bullet will move for that session eg: your wind bracket for the string was 5mph or 2moa of horizontal wind
2) Put the avg wind from your bracket on your rifle, do not adjust the scope our your aiming mark and shoot a string.
2a) Observe your rifle's tracking and rifle's resting place note those shots where the rifle landed further to the left, did the shot correspond to the tracking (further left)
3) Measure your string, was it the avg or larger then your bracketed wind call.
4) Adjust your position (as described by other posters) and repeat steps 1-3
4a) Did your groups improve
4b) Did the rifle's NPA, tracking and feel improve
Two additional points
You will get greater feedback by going to a mid range match and talking with others. Note which bullets they are using.
Set up your front plate with mat using a bubble level, you are looking to set up your front plate and mat so it is level and no wobble, slope or wobble will cause inconsistent tracking in the rifle
Cheers
Trevor
P.S.
Don't forget a chrony (Labrader) consistent velocity matters in wind drift. if you have shot further left was it slower than avg.
