I’ve done the 6br with long barrel/heavy bullets and the short barrel/light bullet combos. But never the short barrel with heavies. Plans are a straight 6br, 8tw Bartlein 20”-22” (#3b contour fluted), and the 105 Berger vlds for a compact hunting rig. I’ve used Varget, Rl15, and VV N540 with very good success. I have everything for the project, just wanted to see if anyone has done this and has any input on this combo before I proceed. Velocity? How well it shot? Thanks in advance.

Not a 6BR, but I did a short barrel 6 Dasher hunting gun this year. Mine has a 22” Benchmark 7 twist. Currently shooting 103ELD-X. Drops are telling me I’m at 2900-2905 FPS with 32 gr of Varget. Shoots good and took one antelope at 298 yds this fall. I’d say go for it. Lots of guys on here running short barrel dashers. I started a thread when I was trying to decide if I should build one. Do a search on here for 6 Dasher hunting gun.
