Need advice on lefthand action

Hi every1


I need a advice on a drop in Custom action with Rem.S700 dimension's in LEFT-HAND.
My plan was to use a Rem.action that i already got for this project. But i'am going to change that plan.....
This will be used for 500mtr.,550y) BR-shooting
If i'am going to use my Rem. action, i have to get it blueprinted. That's why i'am starting to think about getting a,semi)custom action.
I got most of the parts, stock are about to be sent to me from Kelbly.

This are the actions i know of:
Barnard mod.S,they do left-hand):thumb:
Borden mod.Alpine,they do left-hand):thumb:
Nesika Hunter mod T,they do left-hand) Too expensive :nono:
Stiller Predator,I don't know if they make it in LEFT-HAND)
Is it more action out there in lefthand, and with Rem.S700 dimensions
I will not pay more than $750,- for the action.
Because it's very limited shooting in Norway @ this kind of range:,

Stock: Kelbly 1M,inletted for Rem.S700 left-hand)
Scope: NF BR12-42x56,NP-2DD)
Barrel: Pac-nor 1-8", 28"long, 3groove
Cal.6BR,neck i dont know yet)

Just an opinion, but it is based on a lot of experience, I would rather shoot a right right, left handed from the bench, than a left left. I have RR,LL,and LR.

If Boyd's comment is hard to envision, he would be holding the stock and pulling the trigger with his left hand, while working the bolt and feeding ammo with the right hand -- when using a R/R shooting lefty.

I do use today a Panda R/R for my benchrest shooting,100-200y). This is a rifle i have borrowed from a friend. But when i do invest my $$ it's going to be a L/R/L,left bolt/right port/left eject)

All my rifles are lefthanded, and thats the way it's going to be

I have shot for more than 40 years right handed but when I recently started F-class competition and not happy with my results and vision,I'm terribly left eye'd) a club member convinced me to try shooting left handed, prone. The results were amazing and my neck and eye muscles were not tight. My rifle is still a RR but operating the bolt with the right hand while in the prone position means breaking the position every shot. Not good. So, I operate the bolt with my left hand, going over the scope and leveraging the bolt open. I will go with a LL for my next rifle. Anyone trying to shoot position or F-class left handed using a right bolt will have more of a challenge than they need.

You right. I tried shooting left handed but having only right handed rifles, I gave up on it.
The first time I saw Jeff Traylor he was shooting a RR Remington. It was quite impressive but I wouldnt want to do it like that.

Barney Lawton from Dillon, MT is making actions that are Rem 700 clones. I handled a couple of his prototypes at a 1000 yard match at Missoula, MT a couple years ago. Very slick actions with some propietary improvements incorperated by Barney. The original price estimates were around $650. Give him a call to find out if he makes a 'lefty'.

Bruce Baer,717)349-4077 is selling the Lawton Actions now. I just got a 1.450 in Right Bolt Dual Port in SS.

He makes a 1.350" in a rem footprint. The magazine version is exactly same as Rem. the single shot version is about 1/2 longer in the tenon.

According to Bruce you can get them in either right or left and any bolt config in SS or moly. Price for 1.350 and 1.450 is $695. seemed to be very good for the money especially.

Mine is being bedded now and will pick up in another week or so.

He also makes a 1.6 with a .750 bolt that is $795

I have be shooting tactical compitition since '88 with a right hand action.,I'm a leftie) Bipod rapid fire drills are a real advantage to us left handers having the rt. hand on the bolt knob. Now that I've switched gears a little, I'm looking for any short action Rem. with a .473 bolt so that I can position shoot within the time frames. Anyone out there got one?
