Need Advice competitive son.

Wow I posted a whole responses & all that printed was Thank You.

Sorry this is long, but if you want to help John you should know him. A lot of his scores are local, not posted & he has only been shooting 2 years, but his CPM# 293255 Net Competitor as John Hamilton. He shoots for SIRPC youth marksmanship. You can find their Facebook page. They do get grants, but John is the only one progressing to the higher levels so the grants go more for the team as it should be. We have been on our own entering precision and small bore. You all can laugh at me, but I coached him using the book "Ways of the Rifle 2009" & since the club only shoots 2-3 times a month John practices in between the combine & tractor in our shed. He did go to CMP camp last year & trying to go again this summer. He will qualify for regionals at Camp Perry & if I get a tax return I'm going to let him shoot at the Indiana State Junior Rifle Championship at X count Fort Wayne IN in 3p, International Standing & small bore. ( He is going regardless of the taxes, I'll find a way.). I'm trying to get coaches to see him. You figure most college kids have great gear tons of experience, coaches ect. John is a diamond in the rough. No telling how high he could go with an indoor range, a coach & gear. He would love to shoot in college but he is a HS JR already. So there you have John, sorry it was long

Currently John shoots a right handed sporter small bore. It's not comfortable because of the right grip,but he can cycle like lightning, but it takes him out of position. I'm not looking for anything special, could even use a sporter in precision. If it shoots straight John will make it work for him. I appreciate all the responses & will be looking into all the info as well as PM some of you. Thank you for your support.

Two years ago my son failed to make baseball all Stars so 1 parent said they were starting a air rifle team. My son joined and took off like a rocket. I sold my stocks to get him a intro gun & gear 4 precision. In 3p precision he is 280-290/300, International standing 570s/600. He still shoots sporter 3p with 269/300 going to Camp Perry regionals. Only 2 years into this, but he is a JR in HS & needs small bore. He is using a right handed (he is a lefty) bolt action sporter gun for small bore precision and can score in 540s, but he needs a real sm bore. I can't find anything below 2grand. We live on a dairy farm, 2 grand doesn't just float around . Can you guys point me in a direction where I could find used small bores. I think my son has a gift, but we were late finding competitive shooting. I would love to see him shoot with a gun that fits. No telling how far he could go.View attachment 1088561

Thank you for the compliment. John is a good kid. Almost 11 years ago I was in an ATV accident severally broke my leg. Twenty surgeries on my legs & a lot of things I can't do. John helps me go to the store, do house things, & helps on the farm. So when I saw how good he was & how good he could be I figured it was time for me to help him. He want the Aif Force Academy but I'm not sure his grades and test, but his shooting scores are there. Here is a video of him shooting the wick of a lit candle.
