Yes, the best thing would be to make an adapter then thread it concentric to the bore.

He needs a smith to do it on the lathe to be "best".

I have bought several adapter from this site to allow fitting a 30 cal silencer to an AR15(1/2"x28 to 5/8"x24). Having 300 Blackout & 223 barrels the 30 silencer works great. My 6.5x55AI also uses the 30 can extending the use of my Gemtec silencers. The reduction of noise and recoil has to be experienced to fully appreciate the benefits of a silencer.
