Need a source for hard cast bullets.

I'll be loading .357Max. and .454 Casull so they need to be hard. Might cast my own if I can find a good alloy. Lyman #2 is too soft for 1500-1800fps. Thanks, James
I am an avid handgun hunter and cast bullets for several high pressure loads and do not feel the nonsense of "Hard Cast" is real. The velocity at which you drive the bullet (and yes, that is relative to pressure but not solely) governs your BHN. Bullet fit and lube is the key to shooting most all cast bullets to avoid leading the barrel and accuracy. .358" and .375" are my two highest pressure cartridges I load for, 58K+, and I use 50% COWW, 50% pure with 2% pewter. . .about 15 to 17 BHN on the SECCO scale and these are powder coated and gas checked. These run in the 2400fps. velocity and extremely accurate with no leading in the barrel. I also run a 180gr. 357 Maxi at 1600fps. and a 10mm auto 200gr. at 1340fps. both plain base bullets with only powder coating - no gas check - without issue. Slug your barrel for good fit, get the proper lube/PC, GC over 1800fps and bullets under .30 cal and go have fun. Good molds are a must along with clean alloy. Contact Tom/visit his website at Accurate Molds he is great to work with and very knowledgeable. There is something very gratifying about pouring your own bullets, loading your own cartridges and harvesting game with them. . .hard to beat. Good luck and have some fun.
