I'm shopping for a new Smith for a New Project. I have nothing against my old smith but he can't do a Recessed 11° Crown. Someone who is willing to do just a barreled action.

Valid Point I'm located in the lower Hudson Valley NY ... But I'm not against using someone out of state.

You mean he won't, because anyone with a lathe can do a recessed 11° crown. Ask him about the reason he will not do one, some smiths will not do one because they believe a flat crown is more accurate. If that's the reason, ask him to explain to you why, and after his explanation you might find that you also prefer a flat crown.

Eric is right.And you can even do one with a hand tool.Manson reamers sells a nice one.You can do it yourself with one of those.

If I go barreled action I will be using a new action and barrel,

I know I,m a bit insane my current build has only has 200 rounds on it.
