Do yourself a favor. You can get a fx120i for 400 and you will never need another scale. Far better than any scale out their.

krktractor, where did you find that scale for that price? I had a link a couple weeks ago, but didnt complete the transaction and lost the page/link.

Thanks.

I sure will ask Scott before I send him the scale. By any chance do you have his number so that I can call him when the time comes.

thanks,John

Hey guys thanks again for all the post. I just wanted to let you all know that I have put a lot of thought into a scale, and that your opinions have helped me. The scale of choice is an older Ohaus beam scale, that I hope sooner than later will end up at Scott's to be tuned. Maybe later in life I will end up with one of the nicer electric scales, for I found that some are really nice. ( just out of my budget )

thanks, John
I have a gp250. And a rcbs 10 10 that I just got back from S Parker. WOW. Both are dead on. Well worth sending to Scott. 661 364 1199. He may have one for sale.

For what it's worth, I've just made a short video review of the new Hornady beam scale.

I'm pleased to see Hornady have committed to a new beam scale and not just gone along the digital route.

In a nutshell - A budget scale representing good value, well damped, made in USA, fair accuracy and could easily be improved with a bit of tinkering.

Do yourself a HUGE favor and get a GemPro 250... For a tad over 100 bucks, it will measure down to 0.02grs.. It should be at the TOP of your list..

<-------- AGREE, hard to beat

For the scales you listed I would buy the Redding 5-0-5. I have several but always go back to this one.

Happy Shooting

1066, thanks for the video on the new Hornady Scale I've been curious about it for some time now.

I think it's about the best of the budget scales - the quality of some of the others I've seen over the last year or so would make you weep.

Of course, it's not in the same league as the older Hornady/Pacific "M" scales. Although they looked a bit like they had been made in a Russian tractor factory, they were reliable and worked well.

1066, I hope you post about the Hornady after doing the modifications. I would like to see the results. I'm looking to buy another beam scale and I plan to do the mods myself, but the price of an older used RCBS 5-10 or 10-10,Lyman m-5 etc. in good condition on ebay has skyrocketed. So the Hornady looks like a likely candidate for my needs.

I'll do a video of the Hornady scale when I get chance to give it a work over. I think it has the making of a cost effective accurate scale, and certainly a better bet then the new RCBS/Dillon scales from Ohaus.

My Bad. I didn't read all the answers because of time. I have a NIB with ALL documentation RCBS 10-10. I can make you a deal. Remember NEW! E-mail me.
