Need a new PD outfitter

A group of us from SE MO have been going up to Whitehorse SD for Prairie Dogs for the last 4 years unfortunately the Outfitter leased out his whole operation this year. Anyways looking for a new place to go Prairie Dog hunting, anyone have any recommendations.

Thanks Corey

TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't and won't do groups dog shooting and I charge for
hunting and I got 186,000 acres with dogs at up to 2000 plus ranges for those who think they are that good but for a gaggle of people go to Texas as I hear they don't care about a bunch of people running around their ranches like we
do here............

went to that sight and nothing on it about pd, lots of fish,

This still has me lost - Sharps what you talking bout man

CZ550, Not the exact answer you need, but if you call BLM offices in ND, SD, WY, MT, etc, they have lists of ranchers who allow shooting on their spreads. say, towns like Terry, MT. Gillette, WY. Acton, MT. There are also Nat'l grasslands hundred of miles long with miles of PD towns. I can't say any more. Those rods you see in the sagebrush are my melted 22-250 bbls :)

Sharps, what is this all about? Enthusiasm, threat, both, neither? I guess it all hinges on whether or not you are in...Texas. :D

The darn little things die out, get shot out or get gassesed out on a yr to yr basis. To maximize tigger time It's best to call around and check the hatch each spring. How many days are you looking to go?

If you want another shooter in your group, let me know. I am in south Central MO (along I-44) and have always wanted to go on a PD shoot.

While teaching at TSJC last summer I went to the Grasslands National Park. The PD towns were very poor in comparison to years past. I hear the plague, and 1080 poison has about wiped them out.

Plague yes, 1080 no, I wish we still had the availability and authority to use 1080. If we still had 1080 there would be a lot less predators from the air and land. The best way to find a realy realy good dog town for the yr is spend to 4 hrs in the air with a gps.

New Zealand as far as I know is one of the world's biggest remaining users of 1080. It's used to control Australian brushtail possums (nothing like Nth Am possums..). To give you an idea, our Regional Council which is responsible for less than probably 200,000 people has spent in round numbers something like $15M in the last decade on pest control and much of that has been on 1080 for possums.

There's no doubt it really knocks the pest population down but there is a growing anti-1080 lobby here. I sit in the middle on the issue but it's a pretty nasty death. My main deer shooting place was nuked about a decade ago and they literally killed 1000s of possums. I saw the carcases everywhere and it was truly a good 3-4 years before I saw a live one again (which I shot with the hunting rifle). The farmer who owns the place told me he'd found at least 4 deer (which are a known 1080 by-kill ) that had died horribly, one ripping its guts out writhing in agony before it died.
