Need a FIX for revolver issue

Fired rounds in my mdl 29, 6" leave the cases STUCK in the cylinder. Several hundred rounds loaded. Long time ago. I don't remember this to be a SUCH an issue. I do remember sending the gun to S&W. They sent it back without explanation.

This is my BEAR gun. If them bears find out I have only 6 rounds, (I could. MISS that many) I need a FIX for this troubling issue.

I could load down, but the loads are entry level. Does anyone know how to polish the cylinders? Any other suggestions? THANKS.

After you clean the cylinder with a bronze
brush and see rough machining marks you can try polishing them smooth by wrapping a brush with 000 steel wool or red or green scotch bright. lube with a light oil.

What Bill R said! Use a bronze brush not plastic.
this may be a BAD idea but i think using a brush with a drill attachment MAY be ok for the cylinder. Better idea is to soak some cotton balls and put them in cylinder. give the solvent time to work, and hopefully not the the solvent onto/into the nice wood grips
of revolver.

I had a similar problem with a Model 586 many years ago. Sent it to S&W and they returned it claiming it was fixed. It wasn't. I called the Service Manager and talked to him. Not sure you can do that these days, but I was insistent. Since I had many S&W's in those days, I used that as leverage.

Long story short, they replaced the cylinder and it shoots fine ever since. However, my condition exhibited itself immediately after purchase, not after expending several rounds through it.

If your condition was fine after they repaired and returned it to you then I would like at the various potential causes mentioned above. Just keep in mind if you attempt to polish the cylinder chambers you could void the warranty if that still applies.

While I would hate to buy factory ammo at today's prices, you may want to buy a box of factory ammo and see if the condition reoccurs. When I talked S&W, that was the first question they asked me, are you shooting factory or reload ammo.
