Case taper, neck length and shoulder angle?

With the BJAI you'll have less case taper with a shoulder diameter of .465 vs .455 with the AI. Shoulder angle is 40 degrees on both. Neck length is roughly .325. The BJ version has a larger capacity.

I have a PT&G reamer print on hand that I have built a 6.5x55AI Finnlight on.... I also have a original BJAI plan image as well.

The PT&G print is so similar that I went that way after getting both plans and comparing them. Redding's 40 Deg AI dies are based on the PT&G print so that made the most sense.

Put together a 24" Trueflight barrel NO.2 contour and fluted with the Sako 75 finnlight. Fireforming loads... just selected 52g of Vhit N560 behind the 140AMAX (stout standard 6.5x55SE load) and 3 rounds later was on paper at 118yard. 1st 3 shot group 1 MOA, next 3 shots 0.394MOA, averaged 0.7MOA over the next half doz. groups from cold and clean. 3005 fps, nicely formed, no pressure signs.. will shoot the rest of my 100 brass hunting and then will start work on the FF cases....

Like this calibre, good feeding from the sako long mag, no alterations required....

If you are looking to purchase a reamer for your project, I have an unused, brand new 6.5x55 BJAI PT&G reamer and go gauge. My gunsmith purchased a new reamer in this chambering from his go to reamer maker after I bought this one. Let me know if you have an interest.
