6.5 vais opinions?

Well its a cartridage based on the venerable 6.5x55 swede. Steeper shoulder.

Anyone got a reamer print or cartridage diagram? I would like the steeper shoulder on the 6.5x55 to solve the brass flow problems.

Either that or I have to get an inside neck reamer for a straight swede.

I thank you for your input and time.

RHINOUT!

Why don't you give a try to the 6.5X55 BJ Ackley Improved? I remember it was a creation of Bob Jourdan of Precision Shooting Magazine in 1992, Clymer made the reamer and RCBS made the dies. The results were outstanding in a 27" barrel and although there was no moly plating at that time, velocities were similar to the 6.5-06.

you could also use a 6mm BR reamer with a 6.5 pilot on it to clean out the 6.5x55 chamber and that will give you less case taper and a 30 degree shoulder.

JGS has a print and makes the reamer for the Vias flavor but have no clue as to how the Ackley and the Vias compare as to brass life, velocity and accuracy. Have you considered the Plane Jane Swede with a tight neck and minimum chamber in Lapua brass??? With a 120gr Berger, see post, you might get 3,100fps and no cornmeal mush. Overbore
