Need 300WM pet loads/suggestions

About to pay off a new to me Savage Tactical in .300wm. It's the older style w/ 24'bbl.

looking to shoot bullets in the neighborhood of 180-208 grns.,less recoil?)at 600 & 1000yd. F-class.

Any suggestions and velocity estimates?

I had one just like yours. I found 70 to 72 grains of H4831 178gr Hornady 'A' Max with a Fed 215M set .005 off lands to touching the lands.,You can not put bullets that long in the magazine.) 180gr Sierra Match Kings worked almost as well with both Remington and Winchester Brass. O.A.L 3.420,that is the longest lenght I could get in the Savage magazine)

Police were shooting 700 PSS in 300 WM one day. They were using 208 A-Max and lots of R25. Velocity was lot higher than factory 200gr.

k80skeet and I have the same results with 180/208 gr bullets and H4831. 180 gr Noslers work rather well also.

I prefer the Hodgdon Extreme line of powder, as I receive nearly the same performance within a 50-80 degree change in temperature.

208 AMAX and some H1000 works very well. You should be able to get it in the 2850-2900fps range
