NECO lowered my shipping cost some.

The other nite I started a thread here about how NECO had charged me 24.00 shipping on a 34.00 order of a few small things that would easily fit in a small flat rate box. Well the day after I posted a guy from NECO called me. He told me the cart charges a minimum shipping amount but my shipping fee would be less since my order was so small. Received the order today. It was shipped in two small flat rate USPS boxes from different locations. Shipping on each was 6.80 or 13.60 total. That is more like it. I think reasonable would be the postage for 1 flat rate box plus 5.00 handling.

Anyway just wanted to let everyone know that NECO charged me a more reasonable shipping amount than the original amount was supposed to be.

PS NECO knew my phone # because I had also put a comment on the order about the shipping cost.

Although I agree with your gripe in the first place, it's still nice to see there is a company out there that cares enough to contact you and reduce the rate. Since your order was placed, they didn't have to do that. I'm glad it worked out for you.

Yeah I agree with that and thats one reason I posted here they did it. They did seem more responsive to me than many of the retailers we deal with and I appreciate that.--- As a side note they have 2 offices one in CA and one in MN. I dont think they are that big of a company so I am just nosey and wonder what that is about.

A NECO founder's story.

The late Roger Johnston and his wife founded the company twenty-plus years ago. Roger worked with NORMA to create quality brass for the 6BR. They wanted bench rest quality barrels for their testing, but the Tariff for barrels was outrageous in Sweden. Like the retail cost. Roger, being a thinking man, got them six barrels, and on the shipping label described them an "High helix, internally threaded, thick wall tubing...". Their customs office bought it, and the duties amounted to several dollars each, not the retail value. Saved NORMA over a thousand dollars, iirc.

He was a really great gentleman. We shot together many times, he was a more than competitive Schuetzen shooter.
