Necking up Lapua 6.5 284 to 7mm 284.

would appreciate some info with process to expand necks with Lapua 6.5 x .284 brass into 7mm .284 win,
Would expanding the necks in two stages with the Lee .270 and 7mm 08 rem EZX Expander-decap rods produce good results with small runout for 1000y f-class shooting thanks.

Use an expander mandrel... It is an EASY 1 step process. One thing to keep in mind though.. When you expand UP a slight "bump" if you will, forms at the neck / shoulder junction. You will need to turn that off or it will go INSIDE upon firing and you will end up with the dreaded doughnut... Also, that is really work-hardening your brass so anneal afterward>>>>then either run it back into your mandrel or sizing die, whichever you prefer... I prefer a mandrel because it is as straight as you can get>>>then brush your necks out and you are ready to load..

could you recommend an expander mandrel which would work well when using Redding bushing type neck competition dies, thanks.

I use Sinclair built tools... But there are others like K & M and 21st Century>>>all top flight equipment..
