Necking down 30-06 cases

does anyone have experience in necking down 30-06 cases to 25-06 ? I was thinking about getting some Lake City 06 cases to neck down to 25-06. i am thinking it can be done but, my concern is .... will i end up with a thick neck or what else can i look out for. I know that i can get some .270 cases and do it but, i wasn't sure if the 06 having a bigger diameter would be too much to neck down.

Should work just fine, If you have a standard ( large) chamber not a tight neck.

I've necked .30-06 brass down to 6.5-06 with no problems. I clean the necks up afterwards with my K&M neck turner, but that's all.

Just to be safe, Load a few and measure the neck OD
and compaire to factory rounds.

I anneal the brass and turn. I found the necks be thicker near the shoulder and would split after a couple of firings if not annealed. I found better accuracy after the annealing and turning to about 70 percent clean-up.
