necking 7 wsm up to 300 wsm

I happened onto a lot of 7 wsm brass. Ill be shooting a Savage so setting headspace will not be an issue. I noticed the 7wsm brass is longer which seems like it'll have more case capacity which isn't a bad thing. Just wondering if anyone's done this or has insight on the subject. Thank you and have a blessed day.

you can't readjust the barrel forward to fit the farther ahead shoulder on the case. :o if that is what you are asking. what would be supporting the back of the case between the case head and the body of the case? you should be able to full length resize the case to 300 wsm. cliffe

You need to push the shoulder back down to 300 WSM dimensions.

Setting headspace is an issue. You will get yourself hurt by setting headspace for a 7WSM in a 300 WSM the same as if you set up a 308 to shoot 30-06, it doesn't work that way!

All good advice, you may need to anneal the cases before pushing the shoulder back to 300 WSM dimensions. Or you can neck them up and have a reamer made for your new cartridge.

If the 7wsm brass is new and you decide you want to go another route
, I'm looking for 7wsm brass. Mlewis93@gmail.com
