Neck Turnings application in F-class LR

Question,
If you neck turn your F-class long range brass, to what extent do you turn?
is it necesssary to be competive at 1000? Are you just cleaning it up? Or is this like 1000 yard BR, turning it to a consistent .0XX to get the last ounce of consistency/control?
Just learning and looking for some help.
Thanks
CW

If you get a pma neck turner that has the micrometer on it you can just turn em a little at a time until you get that 85-90% then turn em all to match

If my necks are not concentric before I start, I turn them to the smallest thickness.

For example, I just got done turning a batch of 308 Lapua brass that I sized down to 7MM-08. Neck thickness ran between .016" on the high spots, down to .0145, in a very few. I turned them all down to .015" thickness, measured in 4 places around the neck.

Probably 80 of them were 90% cleanup. The other 20 or so( the .0145" thick in the low spot) kept the small low spot...maybe the size of the caliper end. I'm assuming the surrounding brass will flow to that, and make pretty concentric necks.

Pretty much the same thing in my case except I turn my Laupa .308 cases to .0145 with my 21st Century lathe.
