If you remain interested look for a used tool for use in your most desired cartridge. Learn how to turn necks on cheap brass. Once you a familiar with the process you can buy a full fledged set up or you can say no thanks.

Thinking of trying neck turning. Since I like Redding dies, I was thinking of getting the 26400 Redding Case Neck Guage. What is a good neck turner for me to use that is a decent price and fairly easy to use and get consistent neck thickness?

I started neck turning my brass for a 6PPC-USA this winter. It’s a no-turn neck chamber so I just skim the Sako brass to at least 75% cleanup for better consistency.

I bought the K&M kit and I can turn a neck in about 30 seconds using my power drill. It doesn’t get hot. It’s not a cheap kit but it works well.

I get thicknesses held better than .0005 on diameter, probably within .0003.
