Neck turning mandrel

Not sure if you are asking about reamers or mandrels...

Forster used to make one at 0.3135" for use on 0.311 diameter bullet case necks. You had to put it at the correct size for case prep to have the neck shoulder junction at the desired diameter prior to reaming.

Also, the K&M carbide cutting pilot is made for .311 calibers.

Don't recall the over all length of the tool, but their system worked well. They will make you a tool to spec if you desire something that adapts to their system. Otherwise what you seek is just a matter of ordering a 0.312 diameter reamer from any cutter supply and the better ones will even cut it down for you if they offer custom or sharpening services.

I was asking about the mandrel that goes into the case neck for use with a handheld neck turner I have. Most expanding and turning mandrels are 3/8" (0.375") on the end the fits into the handheld turner or expander die. My turner need a mandrel that measures 5/16" (0.312") on the non-turning end.
The turner is very well made with a small micrometer to adjust the cutter blade.

It would increase the chances of getting a good answer to say what turner you are discussing.

Does it have a brand name or a model number?

The Hart has a micrometer on it. A pic might help identify it. Matt
