Neck turning issue

So I've been turning 500 pieces of Norma 284 brass. I've done 200 pieces so far and shot them as well. So far so good, but all the cases have about 2-3 thou neck that is left on the neck that the cutter will not get. They corner of the cutter starts to cut into the shoulder of the case before it can cut the last few thou of the neck. Just worried about possible doughnuts. Do you think it will cause any issues?

Actually, you should allow it to cut slightly into the shoulder. You could be creating a donut because you would have different thickness of brass at the neck/ shoulder junction.

If you are hitting the shoulder before the neck is done, your cutter blade is the wrong angle. Typically cutter blades are either 30 degree for most cases or 40 degree. The shoulder angle of a .284 case is 35 degrees so if you are using a 30 degree cutter and try to run it all the way down the neck you'll take way too much metal out of the shoulder and it could be a safety issue. Either find a 40 degree cutter which will not run into the shoulder or find a tool and die guy to regrind a cutter to 35 degrees.
