i'd say "don't bother." When we tested turned vs no-turn 284 WINS, saw no difference on the target. Every rifle we used at the FO-team matches in the nats this year had no-turn chambers and brass...we did ok with them. Recently cut over all my TR rifles to no-turn chambers...shoot as good as ever...with me still the limiting factorThank you for the input everyone
I shoot a .342 neck chamber. I am talking about skim turning for uniformity
I have No-turn chambers in both my TR and Open rifles , and I tried doing the "clean-up" skim cut to see if it made a difference . It did .
I dropped a avg. 8 points per relay with those cases . Twenty-five brand new cases in the trash . No reason to turn brass for a standard "No-turn" chamber , if you are using a expander on the neck .
I fully intend to cleanup not classic turning. Cant immagine making them uniform could hurt.Regardless of whether I have a no-turn neck or not, I at least push the inconsistencies to the outside with an expander mandrel, the do a light clean up pass. I sleep better knowing that is one inconsistency that is taken care of. Besides, I like turning brass.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

Me too Jade, but I'm always trying to shorten that long list!It definitely doesn't hurt to make it more uniform. I turn because it's quick and easy with the 21st Century lathe and you only have to do it once. I have many friends that don't turn and get excellent results as well so is it necessary? I don't think so but I do it anyway, I do a lot of things that probably aren't necessary......lol
