Neck Turning 6ppc Alpha Brass Question

I normally use Lapua brass for my .262 neck 6ppc's. I am using K&M neck turning tools. I thought I would like to try the Alpha Brass. How easy is it to turn down the Alpha Brass for .262 necks. When I turn the Lapua brass, it takes about three cuttings. Also does using Alpha Brass help in eliminating donuts.

When I turn new 6BR lapua brass to 0.0125" I do it in one pass. It's a varmint hunting rifle.

After turning and FF. Don't use a mandrel when sizing and you'll never know you've got donuts !

I just turned a bunch of R220's to 265. I think 2 passes would get to 260. But id go for it all in one myself.
I did start placing my turner down on a cold pack, in a shallow Tupperware container, while i re uped another case. Kept it from getting so hot. Worked surprisingly well.

I use K&M's #52 cutter on Alpha 6ppc brass. Turns very nicely. Keep a dab of lube on the mandrel of the cutter and you're fine. Also I sprung for their "Ergo" holder for the cutter. Money well spent as it keeps the cutter cooler and much easier to hold during long turning sessions. JME. WD
