Neck Turn for 20's

Anybody neck turn for their 20's? I'm close to sending my components to the builder for a 20TAC and been making a couple of dummy rounds. I'm using Dakota brass, actually Lapua. My loaded necks are .2305 maybe .231 with 39gr Sierra's. I'm just curious if anybody has had a noticeable difference in performance when turning for a 20cal.

My 20tac reamer has a .231ND. Have to skin them a bit.
Have not compared it to a no turn. Done several with this reamer and they shoot good.
I just bought a no turn reamer for AR's, time will tell.

I have a .105 short .204 Ruger so that I can use Lapua .223 brass in that is a tight neck reamer. I want to say it's a .224 neck diameter without looking at the reamer print. That rifle shoots dots at 4050 fps. As I'm sure you know, neck turning is a bit of trouble to do but it does solve several problems.

Neck turning a small caliber has a few advantages. And many hours of work to achieve a result worth keeping.
First measure your prepped cases for neck uniformity. If you have most cases less than .0015" variance, than i would not bother.
Second turn a few spare cases and see if you can achieve a better result.
If you are using a bushing die than it may help, but a regular die not so much.

I turn everything, one less thing i can blame my misses on..... :o

All of my .20`s have a .230 neck and i turn to .012 for a .228 loaded round.

I have a 20br that I purchased mandrels for but never turned, my thought was that necking from 6mm to 20 was bound to cause thickness inconsistencies and I would need to clean the necks up.

Out of the 50 pieces of brass I have, I've put about 40 on paper and haven't seen a need to turn them though your mileage may vary.

I just turned another 400 cases yesterday for my .20 Practical. Sizing down from .223 is not without creating further imperfections in brass distribution. Goes quick as I only go down to .012", just enough to get 80% - allowing a quick single pass. Turning makes it all good and the difference when varminting at 500+ yards is quite noticeable. Otherwise, neck tension is all over the place.
