The subject of neck tension has been discussed throughly on here. Im sure ther may be plenty more topics come up on it in the near future. Im wondering, how much neck tension can you put on a jacket without peeling it. Given the the brass has been chamfered and de -burred . Or,say case mouth has been prepped.
I do alot of unloading, and from time to time get a burr here and there on my unloaded bullets. Im at 4 thousandths tension. I understand it may be variation in my turned brass though.

Try this sometime......
Step #1...Size your case neck...measure outside diameter
Step #2...Seat a bullet...measure outside diameter
Step #3...Pull the bullet...measure outside diameter.
The subtract measurement of step#3 from step #2.........this is your actual neck tension. I've done this test several times and after I pull the bullet the neck diameter never returns to the same as before seating the bullet......maybe yours wil,,but mine never did. This test was done with both of my 6PPC's using a bushing .003" smaller than loaded diameter. Good luck and stay safe.

This is interesting. I understand what your saying. I did something similar with my 30 last week. I just took all my loaded rounds and put each one in my neck turner and sanded them down til a .329 bushing would just slide on.
But In the case of shear measuresing, to do what your talking about. I'd measure the difference between a loaded, verses unloaded round.
I like it!

I have .003" on brass that is .005" on the same brass that is turned, and the turned brass ishoots better. Less vertical displacement. But it is Starline brass.
