neck clearance

I'm thinking of ordering a new Shilen barrel for my 222 Rem. They offer a .250 neck chamber and a .255 neck. My loaded Lapua and Starline ammo measures .2492-5. Can I get away with the .250 neck or would I have to turn cases?

250 would be too tight, need at least 0.002 clearance. 0.003 might be even better

You could get away with it, of course.
You might not even need to resize necks anymore.
But if you're FL sizing, don't go that tight, or you'll end up with chambered tension from case runout.

I run 0.0025" clearance on my 20P with Lapua brass and consider that really marginal. I think your accuracy will improve with at least 0.003" clearance.
