Neck Bushings not the size you order??

Blade calipers are not the correct tool to measure i.d.'s. You want to use either small hole gauges or an inside micrometer. You have to have an experienced 'feel' to use small hole gauges but, in the right hands, they are very accurate. A regular mike is then used to measure the spherical surface of the gauge.

jimbires: Good information, thanks for posting. Now we're talking about measuring the I.D.'s in a laboratory, using very high dollar specialized measuring tools, things that the average reloader does not have available. All to determine if the bushing I.D. is .3364" or .3367", for example. The only way measurements to the fourth decimal place would have any meaning would be if there was a way of determining which measurement produces the smallest groups, and if someone says they can do that, I'm going to have to power up the B.S. machine.

A repeat of my original statement:, ".0005", not enough for me to be concerned".

I specifically purchased a set of pin gauges from Enco to be able to accurately
measure the inside diameter of anything I choose to check.

And in what increments did you order. You would be much better off if you are anal about it and order Deltronic Pins in .0001 increments. I don't think this is what you ordered.

I ordered a set (pin gauges) in .001 increments that are: +.0000, -.0002.
I wanted to able to accurately measure the ID of a cartridge neck after FL sizing.

Do ya ever think we make things way harder than it is???? I order the bushing size I think I need , one below and one above. I load with each, go to the range and test. After all where my bullet lands is the result I am after. I admit I am light years behind yall but with two daughters in college and work I cant devote the time I wish to this sport just yet. Keep it simple works for me.
