NBRSA New Shooter Mentoring Program

I saw this. Fantastic idea. Whats the chance of a shooters school, kinda like the one in New Jersey? Maybe have it the day or two before a big match since alot of shooters go early anyway. New to benchrest people like myself could learn some stuff and shoot a match all in one trip?

That might be doable. The problem with doing much beyond something like the seminars Jack does in the evenings at larger matches. Is this, we are all there competing to win the thing
you can’t ask someone to give a ton of instructions on the days just before a match.

the time to prepare is in all the weeks before. I think the intent is to try for enough volunteers around the US that someone can find a person willing to help close enough to them so some real help can be given

I shoot in Western NC and try my best to help anyone in my area all I can

Tim where do you shoot in western nc. I live in east tn. Do you have local matches there. There is nothing close to me here.

I am a member of Ashe Rifle pistol club

Not many group matches in the southeast region these days.
You do have to put some windshield time in these days to shoot a registered group match

This is not just a Gromp Shooting mentor program.
in the end. Jack Neary wants to have a mentor in each Region for the three main Disciplines...ie, Long Range, Short Range Group, and Short Range Score.
I am the Gulf Coast Region Mentor for Short Range Score, particularly Varmint for Score.
My home range is The Tomball Gun Club in Tomball Tx. I am generally available on Sundays.

Dont believe anyone said it was
The link is there for the NBRSA program and a listing of all volunteers

The title and the intro implies it's "group shooting" ??

FWIW, you're in a hotbed for score shooting. UBR is pretty big in the southeast and your area, in particular. May have to drive a little, but not bad.
Off the top of my head, Somerset, Danville and Wilmore, Ky. Bristol and Dixon Springs, Tn. Jonesville, Va. And I think Ashe County in NC are all UBR. There are still some IBS score matches in the general area but you may have to drive a little further. I know in Orangeburg, SC, they hold IBS vfs matches.

I think Riverbend and Dublin, Ga are the closest NBRSA matches..group.

I'm probably leaving some out.
