Benchrest Opportunity

For anyone who would like to try their hand at NBRSA Registered Benchrest, we have an opportunity for you. If you have never shot an NBRSA registered match before, we will give you a complimentary membership good thru the end of the year no matter when you sign up.
Just go to enter a registered match and when filling out a membership application, let the match director know you have never shot an NBRSA registered match before. They will note this on your application and the business office will issue you the complimentary membership. You will be able to win awards, set records, and receive the magazine for the remainder of the year.

You will still have to pay match fees but the above is an $85 value. You can't go wrong. Sign up and shoot. Join the fun.
If you do not have an appropriate rifle, get in touch with the match director and someone just may lend you a rifle and give you some coaching to get started.
We also offer a mentor program whereby seasoned shooters all around the nation have volunteered to serve as mentors. Go to
and find a mentor close to you. This is another great opportunity to jump start or fine tune your shooting skills.

See you at a match!

For those who are asking, this was passed at the 09/13/2025 NBRSA Board of Directors meeting. You can go to the NBRSA website and find those minutes.
The wording is as below. I was the director who presented it but the idea came from Mike Bryant, a stalwart member of the Gulf Coast region. Thanks Mike!

Mr. Duke then amended the motion to read: Extend complimentary membership to new shooters. It would be for someone who wants to shoot in a NBRSA match and has never shot in a registered NBRSA match previously, a complimentary temporary membership card will be issued to the shooter with an expiration date of December 31 of the year that the card is received. The new competitor can then compete in as many NBRSA matches as they choose before their temporary card expires. The new competitor will be eligible to win awards and set records during this temporary membership period. The match directors will be responsible for identifying these members for the business office. Mr. Shipley second the motion. Mr. Zaccanti 13 asked if the member got the magazine? Mr. Duke said this would be a full membership which would include the magazine. Mr. Conry called for a vote. Mr. Reagin, Mr. Duke, Mr. Shipley, Mr. Mundy, Mr. Zaccanti and Mr. Moore all voted for the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
