In 2018 the CMP will be running the NRA nationals for the NRA at Camp Perry, including smallbore! :)

The details are not yet out there.....I would recommend cautious suspicion of all parties until all of the cards are on the table. Remember, only a few weeks ago there was a pretty messy divorce....

President Alan Coors who also serves on the CMP board along with other NRA Executives (Joe DeBurgolis, etc.) have decided that they know more than the NRA HP Comittee and Dennis Willing. President Alan Coors, who also sits on the CMP BOD has decided that it is best to give the CMP a big 6+ figure contract per year for 3 years to run the NRA Nationals at Camp Perry. This is one of the issues that caused Dennis Willing to resign effective 4/11. While the decision could be overruled by the BOD most will not act for fear of loosing positions within the NRA on committees, etc. Shooters should go to the Members meeting in Atlanta on 4/29 and voice their discontent. A new organization that is shooter/club focused not a centralized organization such as the NRA/CMP called the "USA Target Shooting Association" is in the infancy of forming.

Shawn,

I'd be interested in looking at helping out with the new Shooting Association!

Thanks,
Mike

Mike,

Sunday was able to get a hurdle worked through that will be a big help. Hopefully over this Easter weekend I can just sit and have some more thinking time about how to put this all together.

Wouldn't hurt to talk to the guy who owns PRS now. They are just a few years old and appear to be pretty well managed. They have some rule stuff to work out, but overall they seem to be squared away.

I don't know that they have the number of matches that highpower shooter have each month, but who's to say we need 150 -200 shots for qualification? Maybe the system, as is, is flawed?

NRA has lost its way. I have been a member, on and off, for 16 years and even over that short time I have seen them move away from a shooters and toward more sales and donation based services. I get that we need lobbiests, but when we can take a breath (like now) push to get some headway but get out of Washington and back onto the ranges to see what shooters really want.
