Natchezz weaver extreame

I know the ones there selling are new production out of the phili. And not japanese but has any one done a comparison or eval on them yet?

Yes, I have both. 2 from Japan & 1 from the phillipines. When I bought the last one from Natchez, I THOUGHT that they had another batch of the Jap scopes. My mistake for not asking. The jap scope are absolutely clear & just great glass & performing scope. The Phillipines scope isn't even close. Seriously it's worth the price BUT not what I was hoping to get. Of course when we were buying the closeout Jap scopes, they were half of normal price.
I wouldn't buy another Classic, I would add some $ and go to a Super Slam. Same excellent glass as the old Classic Extreme. If you watch ebay & gunbroker, occasionally there will be one. The last one I picked up was off this site but I popped it almost as soon as he put it on. What power were you looking at?

pretty much anything w side focus, im going to see "if I get one" if scope dot can put some dots in it for ranging.lol

im looking for something to replace my monarch 4-16x42 mildot. Do you know how those new weaver CE compare to the monarch line?

It's my opinion that the Monarch is going to be a little better glass than the phillipine model . The jap models will be better than the monarch.

Re: Natchezz Weaver Classic Extreme

I have the newer Philippine model 8-32x w/German #4 reticle. I have to say, for the price point and features, it's a pretty nice scope. Never looked through an older Japanese one for comparison but I do have Nightforce, Sightron SIII's, Burris Black Diamonds and more. As I'm sure you've all noticed, to get an incrementally better/clearer scope, the price goes up exponentially. It may not be as bright or clear as my Nightforce but, it's not a huge difference and it costs ~1/4 the price. Mine does have a lot of eye relief. I have the scope mounted further forward than I'm used to for correct eye relief....would give me piece of mind (no "scope eye") if I had it mounted on a big boomer. I have mine on a target AR-15.

I haven't tried any tracking test's or anything to give any feedback there.

I bought the same scope that Switchbarrel has. While mounting the scope and boresighting, I noticed the crosshairs stopped moving up. The turret was still turning freely. I drove the turret down to stop and started moving back up. The crosshair stopped moving after 20 moa. I called weaver and they said that it should have 40moa bottom to top. I sent it back and in about 3 weeks I had a new scope with a sheet indicating the crosshair movement in horizontal and vertical. Sad part is having to pay the shipping charges both ways on a faulty new scope.
I have an 8x32 sightron and the glass on the weaver looks as good as the sightron.

I agree with Larryh 100 percent about the Weaver japan scopes. Wish i had not sold the 1s i had in the past. I have 1 left, a v16 4x16 with fine cross hair and dot and i feel they are the best bang for the buck of any scope. Never had any problems with the 1s i had in the past. If anyone has 1 of these in a standard duplex please let me know. I have been keeping an eye out for a couple Weaver japan models for a couple projects i would like to finish.

Vortex came out with those new Viper HS models. Pretty nice. Basically a toned down version of the more expensive PST models. Nice glass, excellent turrets, side focus, 30mm tube, lots of adjustment. Be a great replacement for a Nikon Monarch if wanting to stay in the same price range.

Available in 44mm-50mm objectives. Power ranges available in 2.5-10, 4-16, and 6-24. A lot of optic for the money. here's a link.

Bigdmt, I will tell you about my feelings on vortex and why. Im a big gun club guy here in omaha ive been shooting and working on peoples guns around gere long enough that many people ask my opinion on certain things "ive also had a business since 99 selling shooting supplies" so I figured I would set up a FB page for people in my area and we can share knowledge and I can post reviews. I went about contacting scope suppliers some said they will provide a scope or other such equipment for review and some said no, thats fine a no is still a company taking time away from there day, and says in my mind hey atleast thwy got back to me and if I owned thier product and had an issues im sure they wouldnt leave me hanging. Vortex has not got back to me, I ask about purchasing direct or perhaps a loner and I also inquired about the 4-16 pst glass reviews not being as good as the 6-24. To me this is sad there is a local company here that does sell them but doesnt really promote them and when asked about vortex they said "although it isnt correct" that there a new company and go with a scope thats been around awhile. Well last weekend like usual I was at the range and had 3 people "that I know and shoot with" come up and ask me about the vortex review and hows it coming "they had been very interested in the pst line specifically" I replied that I hadnt heard a word back, and also with the help of google found a few threads of owners with issues not hearing for a long time after many calls and emails, so I said I wouldnt recommend them. So the point of this long drawn out post is that even though im sure there good, but at this time I would not buy nor recommend them. Although I appreciate the suggestion and you taking the time to post.

Customer service is a big deal & every email or call should be answered. I deal with John Q public every day & do my best to meet that criteria. What I can say without a doubt is that if you call Weaver in their Wisconsin location, you talk to a real person who speaks english & scopes. Same for Pentax. Very refreshing and their service is great. Every company with have an oops every now & then, how they deal with them is the difference.

larry hit it on the head. Whenever I sell a product I back it up, since im a lil guy my customers have my cell number and office number and I take care of them. They have a question it gets answered. That means ALOT to people.

I belong to many forums and this 1 and Snipers Hide are the 2 i spend 90 percent of my time on or have dealings with people. I have heard to many mixed reviews on this line of scope to spend the money and find out myself how they are. Their has been a wealth of reviews over their about these to make my mind up in not owning 1.

I recommended them because I had a 6-24 PST scope a while back and loved it. Very nice glass. Not as nice as a Nightforce for clarity at long range, but all other functions were equal in quality. Knobs with clicks as solid as a NF NSX, excellent illumination, great glass etched reticle, and many other nice features. My father-in-law owns an older style Viper 6.5-20 scope and it is very nice as well. Not exposed target knobs on his scope, but very solid click adjustments nonetheless. All around excellent glass and when I called customer service to inquire about certain features on my PST scope, I was put right through to e rep with no hold time. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and was more than happy to answer all my questions.

They no doubt have the absolute best warranty in the business and the rep told me that no matter what happens to my product, they would repair or replace it absolutely free.

So my experience with them was VERY positive. I'm sorry to hear that yours was not the same. I imagine it is because they are a new company that is growing so fast that they are extremely busy

DMT I agree they are probably swamped, and although it may sounded like it I wasnt attempting to "knock" them, just express my experience with them. I did get to mess with the 6.5-20x50 mill I like how the turrets reset to zero and how the mag setting can be seen from behind. If I owned one I am sure I would be happy with it. Another possibility is that perhaps they figured some little company in omaha who would listen to that guy "lol", and again I dont blame them for that either, I dont own a scheels or cabelas im a small order per request avg joe shooter who spends his weekends at the range.lol. "unfortunately" thats when I get asked questions and orders are placed so I dont my range time in.lol.
So in conclusion I want to reiterate im not bashing vortex, and I am looking forward to sometime doing a review on one or more of them, but when someone asks me of them ill say from what ive heard good glass "except 4-16" solid scope and for the most part good cs but here is my experience when attempting to get ahold of them.
Mini rants over.lol.
